It’s been a while since my last post. I wish I could spend more time writing about our babies. I keep thinking things will slow down at some point, but I doubt it. Maybe once we settle down and everyone is home. I am happy to say that the Quads are doing wonderful. They are 6 weeks already, actually they are minus 4 weeks 🙂 36 weeks gestational. They changed so much! We have big babies!! The boys are 5 pounds 10oz, Alexis is 5 pounds 3oz and Hannah right at 5 pounds. Everyone is breathing on their own and they only have the feeding tube left. They all look so good and everyday we get great evaluations from the doctors. They are periodically tested for different things (hearing, vision, tummy & head scans, etc.) just to make sure they develop and grow. The best environment for them would still be inside my belly, for 4 more weeks, but they are doing very good and they are very well cared for at Northside. That’s why they have to be there, not because they are sick. They are not sick. Many people think there is something wrong with them. I would think that too if I wouldn’t have to go through this journey probably, but now I’ve learned so much about preemies. They still need to sleep as much as possible so even though we are so excited to see their pretty eyes and hang out with them while they are awake, we keep it to a minimum. The nurses call it “touch time” when it’s time time to feed them and change their diapers. It’s a lot better than before. We do hold them more and we actually bottle feed them (I breastfeed them too), give them baths (they all LOVE bath time!), change outfits and all that cute stuff. They know our voices and now that they are all in the same pod, they get jealous!! They hear us when we get there and many times they all start fussing. The nurses tell us how everyone has been behaving until we got there 🙂 So cute!
Yesterday was the first time the Quads got together! It was a unique moment… They had a little play date in Isaac’s crib 🙂 I wonder if they feel something special for each other already.
These are our treasures! When I saw all 4 of them together… it just melted my heart! Very soon one of them is coming home! I will make sure to have a special post about that 🙂
One VERY blessed Mommy,
Lori.
It’s absolutely amazing seeing them together! They are perfect. That last picture with Isaac and Hannah cracked me up. It looks like Hannah’s thinking something like, “little dude, you’re already giving me a headache.” MUAH precious babies!
Hahah yup thats right 🙂 It was amazing to see them one next to the other! I kept telling the nurse ” these are MY babies!!! all of them!!” too bad Oly missed it. But maybe there will be a next time before they all come home.
They are sooooo beautiful!!! I really enjoy looking at the pictures and I thank God for what He does in your family. Hugs!
Amen!!
